The End Of Stink Bug Season

May 2, 2017

Seabridge Global Logistics News

FROM 30 April 2017, the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources ceased heightened measures for the 2016-17 BMSB season. In addition target goods from the United States will no longer be subject to the specific import requirements that were applied during the 2016-17 BMSB season.

Importers are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure that their goods are imported free of biosecurity risks such as stink bugs throughout the year, not just during the period of heightened seasonal measures.

This is of interest to clients in the import and shipping industries, including importers and customs brokers associated with the importation of targeted break bulk and containerised vehicles, boats, machinery and machinery parts that were shipped from the United States from 1 September 2016 to 30 April 2017 inclusive.
