Random Inspections of Air Cargo

November 8, 2016

Seabridge Global Logistics News

A SECOND survey of imported commercial air cargo will be conducted from 14 November 2016. 300 consignments that would not normally be subject to biosecurity intervention will be inspected.

The survey period will last from the 14-27 November 2016 and during this time it is possible that a consignment that would not typically be been referred to the Department will be selected for a random inspection.

As the survey is targeting consignments that would not usually be inspected, this may cause disruptions and delays. However, no inspection fees will be applied for consignments that comply with biosecurity requirements.

Seabridge will be working closely with the Department to minimise delays. For more information about the survey or importing goods into Australia, please call a Seabridge import expert on 1800 727 195.
